Nishu Kumar has impressed for Bengaluru FC this year but is set to depart for their rivals.
After five seasons with Bengaluru FC, full-back Nishu Kumar is set to leave the club to join competitions Kerala Blasters following season.
The 22-year-old left-back had offers from several clubs such as Bengaluru FC but he chose to jump ship and register to the Kochi-based club.
Nishu joined the Blues in 2015 and enjoyed five successful seasons at the I-League and ISL. After proving to be a dependable back-up option in the first 3 decades, the child stepped up to the amount of first-team and has been playing regularly in the previous two seasons under Carles Cuadrat. He’s started 36 matches in the last two campaigns in ISL and has scored two goals as a left-back.
Nishu Kumar has the experience of playing in the AFC Cup for Bengaluru FC and recently made his debut for the Indian national team. As a youngster with enormous potential, the Uttar Pradesh-born footballer will be an asset for Blasters.
Nishu is also famous for having a penchant for long rangers. He’s already scored one blinder at Bengaluru 1-0 win over Hyderabad FC before this year.
Nishu’s ability to play as a full-back on each flank and also as a winger should be a boost for the Men in Yellow.
According to Target sources, the child has already signed the contract with the Kochi-based club and the deal should be announced within the upcoming few days.
Kerala Blasters has been busy in the transfer market after a third successive season without a playoff qualification. They have strengthened their defence with the inclusion of Tiri and has roped in many Indian players for next year.
